Community Blood Drives

Middleburg Communities has teamed up to do monthly blood drives with “The Blood Connection” & “We are Blood” organizations in Texas and South Carolina. The COVID 19 outbreak has created a national blood shortage which has caused many lives to be lost. Our current campaign of blood drives has taken place at several of our communities with a very high success rate.

This initiative is so important because typically blood banks hosts a variety of weekly mobile drives, including those at workplaces, high schools, universities, churches, and community centers, but due to the pandemic, many have been canceled. Today, with blood drive cancelations, blood banks nationwide face a severe lack of blood donations, new donors, and mobile blood drive locations.

Middleburg Communities so far has had 136 staff and resident’s participant in these blood drives which is enough blood to save over 400 lives! One resident was quoted saying “It feels good to make a difference and save lives” Middleburg communities plans to continue these blood drives and find other ways to help the communities that we serve and help fight against the negative impacts that the COVID 19 outbreak has caused.
