Volunteering at Second Harvest Food Bank

On September 27th, 2016 Alicia Jones, the Community Manager at Hickory Highlands along with volunteers from Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Antioch, TN

Second Harvest Food Bank rescues, sorts, and distributes frozen meat, dairy produce, and dry groceries from 224 grocery stores and food donors. In the 2015 fiscal year and part of 2016, Second Harvest rescued more than 9 million pounds of food. Alicia and HCA sorted 9,973 pounds of food that would have been disposed of, if not for the rescue program. The amount of sorted food will provide approximately 8,311 meals for those who struggle with food security.
