Kris Thompson

Kris Thompson brings more than 20 years of commercial real estate experience to his role as Director of Land Acquisitions at Middleburg Communities. With extensive expertise in land acquisition, entitlement, development, and investment analysis, Kris has built a career identifying strategic opportunities and creating value through thoughtful land investment decisions.

Throughout his career, Kris has worked closely with leading real estate investors, developers, and institutional partners across Greater Phoenix and South Florida. His deep understanding of local market dynamics, development trends, and land economics enables him to identify compelling investment opportunities and navigate the complexities of bringing new developments to life.

In 2011, Kris founded Vizzda, a real estate data and technology company designed to help investors and developers make more informed acquisition and investment decisions. Under his leadership, Vizzda grew into a widely adopted mapping, research, and analytics platform serving major brokerage firms, investment groups, and development companies across multiple markets. This entrepreneurial experience further strengthened his data-driven approach to real estate investment and his ability to recognize emerging market opportunities.

At Middleburg, Kris combines his entrepreneurial background, analytical expertise, and extensive industry relationships to identify and secure high-quality multifamily development opportunities. He is passionate about building lasting partnerships, pursuing disciplined investment strategies, and contributing to the development of thoughtfully designed communities that create enduring value for residents and investors alike.

Kris holds a Master of Business Administrations from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific University.
