Scott Makee

Scott Makee serves as Regional Development Partner – West at Middleburg, where he leads the firm’s expansion across the Western United States. He brings more than 20 years of experience developing multifamily and mixed-use communities across the Southeast, Texas, Mountain States, and Southwest. Over the course of his career, he has led the acquisition, capitalization, and development of projects representing more than $1.4 billion in aggregate value.

Prior to joining Middleburg, Makee served as Senior Managing Director of Mill Creek Residential’s Denver office, where he established and led the firm’s Colorado development operations. Previously, he was a Regional Partner with Morgan Group directing development efforts in the Denver and Phoenix markets, and earlier served as Managing Director at Crescent Communities where he helped expand the firm’s multifamily platform into Tennessee, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado.

Makee began his real estate career as a Finance Associate with Crescent Communities in Charlotte after spending six years in corporate and brand strategy advising global companies on product positioning and value creation. He holds an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate Development and Finance from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School and a B.S. from Wake Forest University.
