Kory Geans

Kory Geans is the Chief Investment Officer at Middleburg. He is responsible for all real estate investment activity, from the formulation of each strategy through its execution and asset management. In this role, he has overseen over $300 million of equity investments in both multifamily development and acquisition strategy since joining the firm.

Before Middleburg, Kory was at Grosvenor Group, where the company managed a real estate development pipeline in excess of $2 billion throughout Canada and the United States. He managed the financial and risk analysis for the existing portfolio as well as joint ventures and new opportunities. Before Grosvenor Group, Kory worked for Parmenter Realty Partners, an investment manager operating a series of private equity funds that invested in value-add office properties. He began his real estate career at Penzance, a Washington, D.C., real estate operating company.

Before starting his real estate career, he served in the United States Marine Corps in support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. Kory is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University, where he studied economics and international business and graduated with honors. Additionally, he is an active participant in ULI, NMHC, NAIOP, and DCBIA.
